Spotsylvania County’s mission is to deliver quality government services that are customer-focused, promote a safe and prosperous community, and reflect excellent financial stewardship. In support of this mission, the Public Works department maintains County-owned facilities and provides safe water, wastewater services, solid waste management, and community beautification services, all while ensuring dedication to efficiency and regulatory compliance. The department’s oversight extends to the Wastewater Treatment Division which includes three wastewater treatment facilities and composting operations. These composting operations offer an economically feasible and environmentally-beneficial way to dispose of biosolids and yard waste while simultaneously creating an exceptional compost product.
